Brains develop in context

Some simple context ideas
Obviously every child is unique and every experience of every child is unique.  There is no such thing as a recipe to create perfect early childhood experiences.  It is impossible to provide for what might be a perfect future as growth and development into adulthood.

Humans ‘become’ in context where there are multiple truths from multiple perspectives, depending on the person(s), the time, place, and space.  There is much current research that explains how some experiences do hinder and some experiences support the ability to be more able learners throughout the lifespan.

This blog will examine current research that describes the biological and social processes that set children up to cope and learn into their future.

Begin Again

The name had to be right.  you + i = WE Build the Brains captures the point fairly clearly.  This blog is about early human development, how every person bears responsibility for moving our community towards providing our youngest and most vulnerable citizens with the very best start in life.  This world is a challenging one and every person needs and deserves the best building blocks to support them for the next 87 or so years.

Curiously, the secret is not in super-technology... actually the secret for healthy brains is biologically complex but humanly simple.  What is even more curious is that super-technology would be easier to manage because engaging people to insist that change happen is much more difficult.  If our babies and youngest toddlers are going to have a fair start it will require regular people to understand what needs to happen and demand some basic changes take place in how we set up our community.

I hope this wee little blog will help people understand that even though the solution is super simple, the change can't happen without You.  Yes, it is the many drops to fill a glass.

In the coming weeks I will post weekly about Basic Brain Development and what our community must to do ensure there is equity from the start.  Please read, comment, question, wonder and pass it on.  !  :)
